Chondroitin Sulfate (CS) is an important constituent of the articular cartilage, forming part of proteoglycans, molecules that, due to their three-dimensional arrangement and hydrophilic character, provide to the cartilage with its selective permeation, water retention, elasticity and compressive strength.
