Heparins
We produce and commercialize different types of bovine- and porcine-derived heparin for pharmaceutical and diagnostic applications.
Bovine-Derived Heparins
Bovine heparin is one of Syntex’s key differentiators. It is produced at a dedicated facility exclusively for bovine-derived products, with no cross-contamination with porcine-derived material.

Heparinoids
Heparinoids are mucopolysaccharides obtained during the heparin manufacturing process.
The main heparinoids include dermatan sulfate, heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate. They are used as anti-edematous and decongestive agents.

Sodium and calcium heparins are primarily used for the prevention of blood clotting and thrombus formation during cardiovascular procedures, as well as for the prevention or treatment of thromboembolic disorders.
Lithium and ammonium heparins are used as in vitro anticoagulant agents for blood sample collection and for the preparation of heparinized syringes and tubes.
Low molecular weight heparin is an antithrombotic agent used for the prophylaxis of perioperative thrombosis and the treatment of thromboembolic disorders. Syntex has developed its own patented methods for its production.
Chondroitin Sulfate
We produce pyrogen-free, injectable-grade chondroitin sulfate of bovine origin.
It is used as an anti-arthrosic agent for human use and in parenteral formulations, eye drops and intraocular injections.
